This month The autumn colour diary is open, and a few Thursday evening chairs are still free.

Tue – Sat · Four chairs

A small studio on Saffron Lane

Colour that grows outthe way you want it to

We cut for the way your hair actually falls and we build colour you can live with for months, not weeks. Four chairs, unhurried appointments, and honest advice about what will hold.

First time with us

Start with a colour consultation

Twenty minutes in the chair before anything is mixed. We look at your hair's history, what it can carry, and how much upkeep you genuinely want — then we quote the work properly.

The price list

Prices start from the figures below and are confirmed in the chair, because length, density and colour history all change how long the work takes. Set aside the time shown — we would rather finish properly than rush a rinse.

Cut & finish

  • Cut & blow-dry

    from £58

Consultation, wash at the basin, dry cut or wet cut depending on your texture, then a finish you can repeat at home.

    Allow 1 hr 15 min
  • Restyle

    from £74

For a real change of shape or length. We plan it across two stages if your hair needs to grow into the line.

    Allow 1 hr 45 min
  • Curl & texture cut

    from £68

Cut dry, curl by curl, with a diffused finish. Bring your hair in its usual state rather than freshly straightened.

    Allow 1 hr 30 min
  • Fringe trim

    £12

Between visits, for anyone who already sits with us. Walk-in when a chair is free, otherwise we will slot you in.

    Allow 15 min

Every cut includes a short home-care talk: which two products actually matter for your hair, and which you can skip.

Colour & tone

  • Root tint & gloss

    from £66

Regrowth covered and the mid-lengths refreshed with a translucent gloss so the join disappears.

Allow 1 hr 45 min · patch test first
  • Lived-in highlights

    from £132

Hand-painted through the mid-lengths with a soft root shadow. Built to look deliberate at three months, not stripey.

    Allow 3 hr · includes cut-in finish
  • Full head lightening

    from £186

Quoted only after a consultation and a strand test. Often staged across two appointments to keep the condition.

    Allow 4 hr +
  • Gloss & tone refresh

    from £42

A standalone toner to take brass out or warm cool blonde up, six to eight weeks after a colour appointment.

    Allow 45 min

Colour work needs a skin patch test at least 48 hours before your appointment. We book it in when you request the chair.

Recent work

Lookbook

Three appointments from the last few weeks, with what was actually done. If something here is close to what you had in mind, say so on the booking form.

Long blonde hair with soft hand-painted highlights seen from behind

Lived-in blonde

Hand-painted highlights with a shadowed root, toned cool. Grown-out for four months before the next appointment.

A stylist cutting a precise line into a client's hair at the chair

Collarbone line

A restyle from mid-back length, cut with a soft internal graduation so it still moves when it is air-dried.

Freshly styled dark hair being finished with a round brush

Gloss on dark hair

No lift at all — a clear gloss over natural depth to bring the shine back after a summer of hard water.

What to expect

How your visit runs

The studio takes four clients at a time, so nobody is left sitting under a mirror waiting for their stylist to come back.

  1. Consultation first

We start dry and unclipped, so we can see how your hair sits. Bring photographs if you have them, and tell us what you disliked about the last cut — it is more useful than what you liked.

  2. At the basin

Reclining basins, a scalp massage as standard, and a conditioning treatment chosen for your hair rather than added to the bill by default.

  3. Cut and colour

One stylist stays with you from start to finish. If the plan needs to change once the colour lifts, we tell you before we carry on, not afterwards.

  4. Finishing and home care

We show you how the finish was built and which parts you can realistically copy. You will leave knowing when to come back, and what can wait.

Questions we are asked most

Do I need a patch test before colour?
Yes, for any tint or permanent colour, and it has to be at least 48 hours before the appointment. It takes two minutes behind the ear. If you have sat with us within the last six months we will usually still repeat it, because product formulations change.
How is the price worked out if my hair is very long or very dense?
The list price covers hair to roughly shoulder length with average density. Past that we charge for the extra product and time, which we quote at the consultation before anything is mixed. There is no separate surcharge added at the till.
How often will I need to come back?
A root tint is usually every four to six weeks. Hand-painted highlights are designed to sit for three to four months, with an optional gloss halfway through. Cuts hold their shape for six to ten weeks depending on the line — a blunt bob needs more attention than a graduated mid-length.
Should I bring photographs?
Please do, and bring two or three rather than one. It helps us see what you are consistently drawn to. Photographs of hair a similar texture to yours are the most useful, and we will be straightforward if your hair's current condition cannot get there in one appointment.
Can I have my hair lightened in one appointment?
Sometimes, and sometimes not. If your hair has previous box colour or heat damage, pushing it in one sitting risks the condition. We will do a strand test, tell you how many stages it needs, and price each stage so you can decide.
What happens if I am running late?
Let us know and we will do what we can. Up to fifteen minutes we can usually still fit the full service in. Beyond that we may need to shorten the appointment to a cut and finish, or move you to the next free chair rather than rush colour work.
